Remedy Engineering, Inc. personnel have extensive experience in the design, construction management, construction oversight, and operation of remediation systems.

Remedy Engineering, Inc. has experience with a wide variety of remediation projects including, but not limited to, remediation at operating facilities and to support property sale or transfer and redevelopment.

Our remediation experience is summarized below:

  • Pilot testing, design, construction oversight, and operations and maintenance for petroleum and solvent contaminated sites.

  • Evaluation of remedial alternatives, including Net Present Value (NPV) cost analyses.

  • Preparation of plans and specifications and bidding documents for construction.

  • On-site supervision of system installation and operation and maintenance activities.

  • Preparation of operation and maintenance manuals and bidding documents for remediation system operation.

  • Use of Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling and project controls to track progress.

  • Evaluation of contractor submittals during construction.

  • Expertise in remediating a variety of contaminants including petroleum hydrocarbons, solvents, metals, and PCBs.

  • Expertise at remediation technologies include air sparging, ozone sparging, in-situ chemical oxidation, groundwater extraction, soil vapor extraction, multi-phase extraction, vacuum enhanced recovery, bioventing, phytoremediation, and dig and haul operations.

    Representative Projects
  • Design and construction oversight of interceptor trench and groundwater extraction system expansion to prevent contaminated groundwater from impacting nearby surface water and sensitive marine environments.

  • Evaluation of remediation system O&M data to refine operations and develop cost saving improvements to long term system operation.

  • Designed barrier to prevent discharge of contaminated surface water to the ocean.
  • Project Spotlightin-situ soil and groundwater remediation

Remedy Engineering has completed many in-situ soil and groundwater remediation projects including remediation of a chlorinated solvent site located immediately adjacent to Mare Island Strait. Remedy Engineering took over implementation of chemical injection and monitoring of the site from a previous consultant and was able to quickly understand the site ensuring a rapid and smooth project transition.  Remedy Engineering planned and implemented a chemical injection of amendments, including cheese whey, to create subsurface conditions conducive to reductive dechlorination of the contaminants.  Contaminants were significantly reduced following the third injection at the site.  Post-remediation monitoring is continuing in order to evaluate the long term effects of the chemical injections on the site contaminants.
